Love Eachother!
"Love Eachother!" Is the response the kids will get from me if they are having an argument. This is usually followed by, "You will SIT and hold hands until you can be friends"... now THAT get's their attention. Eeew, hold hands.. afterall love is the feeling you feel when you feel you're feeling a feeling you've never felt before. We've been talking about what love is exactly, which is not an easy thing to explain to a child. They all know that Jesus loves them, which is the most important thing. Maybe it will click someday, but for now, we will "love" by being kind and creating something special just for the sake of expressing ones love. I found this air dry molding clay recipe online.
2 Cups water
2 Cups Flour
4 Tsp. Cream of Tartar
1/2 Cup Salt
2 Tsp. Vegetable Oil
Throw it all in a small pan over medium heat, stirring constantly until it resembles playdough. Immediately lump it onto the counter and let cool for a bit before you knead it smooth. I LOVE this recipe because if the low salt content. It is very smooth!
The kids molded these candy dishes. We baked them all day it seemed, at 200 degrees to help with the hardening process. They were still not hard, so a week and a half sitting out did the trick. One child chose to paint hers, which softened the dish again and required more drying. Then we filled them with hearts to give to someone, well, after we had some for ourselves. One for you, two for me. :) Happy Valentines Day!
