Group time is really fun right now! These kids are enjoying the structure again.
Yesterday we pointed out the red items around the room. We will be doing that for a couple of weeks.
To help the kids remember the letter we are learning, I like to let them point it out to me on any of the books we read. They all wait patiently for their turn. I usually give them each a page to look for their own letter so they don't all copy each other.
We enjoyed a rowdy round of "The Wheels On The Bus". It's great to see the giant school bus every morning! The kids are always fascinated by it in anticipation of maybe someday riding it themselves.
At the table, we began our project by tearing up some red paper.
It's good fine motor practice, and believe it or not-- can be difficult for a child to learn. It amazes me how easy it can be for them to accidentally rip a page in a book, yet when they are given the green light to do it at the table it doesn't always work out. I did a lot of it for them. No problem.
I love this project because it reviews three of the things that we are learning right now. One red apple.
They all worked diligently and the project turned out great! Once they completed the red part of the apple, they tore up some green pieces to fill up the leaf part.
Beautiful!
Before I could even tell them all how wonderful their work looked, they were outside. It all happened so fast!
Scholastic also sent us some awesome two sided posters, one with a Frozen character and one with the Ninja Turtles. Those are the most talked about characters in preschool right now.
♥♥♥Happy Thursday!♥♥♥
