It really doesn't feel like Fall here is Western Washington. The temperatures have been in the low to mid 70s, and today it will be in the mid 80s. I am looking forward to the change in weather that will arrive mid week. The sunny weather hasn't stopped us from celebrating the changing leaves. Fall doesn't officially arrive until September 23rd. We spent some time tearing up paper for our one Fall leaf on Friday.
Because we have been doing this more often lately, it is becoming less challenging for the kids to do it themselves. Especially with concentration tongue! (Love it!)
I traced a leaf onto the paper for each child to fill in with their torn paper pieces.
They worked steadily to fill it in the best that they could.
The result was one beautiful Fall leaf!
They were careful about the stem, trying to tear a strip of paper to fill it in. I outlined the leaves in metallic gold glue.
I love the way torn paper art turns out! No matter what, it is always pleasing to the eye and takes enough time for the kids to be really proud of their work.
This completed our two weeks studying the number one!
♥♥♥Happy Monday!♥♥♥
