We introduced the circle yesterday. :) Believe it or not, every September when we begin preschool it always feels as if we are seeing and learning these things for the first time. Even if some of these kids were here for the same lesson last year. Their eyes light up when I tell them what new thing we will be learning about today. By the way, it makes me a crazy person when I see that circle flash card because I clearly colored outside of the line. ANYWAY- we collected some circle items from around the room. This is a great activity- the kids find something new every time!
The sun has a circle!
An O is a circle!
We are still learning about Fall. The kids are singing a song here. :)
♫"Leaves are falling, leaves are falling..
On the ground, all around..
Red and yellow, orange, many different colors...
To be found, to be found!" ♫
(To the tune of Frera Jacques)
They like that the playroom tree is dressed up for Fall.
I found this book about red animals at the library- perfect because we are continuing our looking at and noticing the color red for the month of September. The Giant Pacific Octopus is pictured inside the book. The kids were excited that we live so close to such a magnificent creature!
This worksheet is a great one. They "chugga chugga choo choo'd" around the balloons on the lines and colored the balloons the suggested colors. Because these kids cannot read yet, I just colored each word the correct color so the kids can see that and then fish out the correct color for that balloon.
Great job, kids!!
