We had a project planned yesterday that involved painting a green tree but I thought we should incorporate some shape work into it. We scrapped the paint idea and cut out some triangles.
One at a time starting at the bottom, each child layered four green triangles on top of a green rectangle.
They added a cotton ball snowy blanket underneath.
Foam snowflakes completed our wintery scene!
All of the while, we remembered that the triangles are green. ♥
I love these colors up on the art wall. :)
Meanwhile in the land of pets, look who is clearly NOT afraid of a group of children? Petra! She is very interested in being involved with the kids just like Smudge is.
Snack time on the carpet? She was "in".
The kids are great with her so far.
She's pretty bossy at times. This sweet little girl just let Petra explore. Meanwhile, Smudge is starting to understand that baby kitty is staying and has mellowed out a bit. He has been given full access to our bedroom at night and I think he enjoys that right now. He's a little jealous that baby Petra gets special kitten food, so we just let Smudge eat it, too. Every day I remind Smudgie that he is my BEST beast. He has returned to his usual morning routine with me, we get the paper together and breakfast. Smudge even left me a dead bird last night, and I choose to believe that it's a peace offering, not a death threat. LOL!
Orla Fallon sings 'Bells Of Christmas'. We are enjoying this CD this morning.♫
